permission marketing policy

The information ASM uses to supplement campaigns is always derived from permission-based records. We are compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 as well as with the Ethical Business Practice guidelines.

ASM makes sure that email recipients are provided with detailed information about how their names and email addresses were obtained. Recipients must opt-in to receive emails and may choose to remove their addresses from future campaigns. These security measures are beneficial to both the clients and the recipients. Targeted consumers will know that their emails are coming from a legitimate and secure source.

Spam

The Interactive Advertising Bureau, the Network Advertising Initiative's Email Service Provider Coalition and privacy group TRUSTe define Spam as a commercial email sent without an existing business relationship or prior informed consent.

Informed consent is defined as any of three forms of opt-in: single opt-in, confirmed opt-in and double opt-in. American Student Marketing will not participate in any projects involving Spam. All efforts, within our ability, are made to guarantee the opt-in authenticity of all lists provided to American Student Marketing.

Opt-In

Opt-in is a necessary component of email marketing. Organizations are required to employ this component to ensure compliance with current federal regulations. In addition, this component ensures that only individuals who actually request information from organizations and their marketing partners receive this type of commercial email.

It is also recommended that companies personalize their communication with some type of indication that they have already established a relationship with their customers. The recipient of the email campaign is also provided with detailed information, informing them of how and where their name and email address was acquired by the sender. Frequency of mailings is another concern, and we encourage organizations to refrain from over mailing.

Unsubscribe

To protect the privacy of every recipient inbox we ensure that every email that is sent from American Student Marketing includes a single-step unsubscribe option. This enables the recipient to remove their email address from inclusion in future email campaigns.

If you feel you have received a commercial email that does not comply with current federal regulations, please send ASM a copy of the email (if possible, please forward as an attachment).
